I am neither a Packer fan nor a Brett Favre fan. But come on people (Packer's organization), this guy is a human being. He went through hell with his wife being ill so give him a break. He had to make sure his family was well first before he made any concrete decisions. For the good of the game, and to be nice, grant him his unconditional release. If he chooses to play for a division opponent, so be it. He earned the right to make his own choice. If they want to play hard ball, Brett, "Call their bluff," and take the $12 m for sitting down. The Packer's organization will be wasting their shareholder's money just to prove a point. and why? Are they protecting their own 'legacy' and not really the legacy of the person who has given them so much over the years. Give Rodgers the chance he deserves, without having to play with 'a monkey on his back.' The kid has stood by the team for all these years to deserve a start without any pressure. Do not ruin it for him by continuing on with this saga just to satisfy your pride. Remember: Pride comes before fall, and a mighty one this may be if you do not grant Brett the unconditional release he is asking for.

Problem is I live next door to the Viking fan that drives a purple truck with the license plate Viknz. I can just hear him laughing, so you guys wanted Aaron Rodgers instead of Brett Favre. No matter what other teams, co-workers and customers I spoke with across the country, cheered for they all respected Brett Favre. Now they think it was just too cold up here last winter and it froze our brains.

Brett should quit the interviews and let what ever is going to happen. Brett didn't think so much about his wife when he went to Crivitz and had an ongoing affair with a married woman. Quit molly coddling the honorable (lol) brett. Life goes on, he returns and then this starts again after another season? Packer fans get over the dramma

No drama, just a big Packers fan, who wants the team to have the best chance of winning this year. Tired of the BS and wonder what they are thinking. Just about every other NFL team would take Brett in a heartbeat. I can think of three other teams that wouldn't, Patriots, Giants and Colts.

To: karinh20 Re: Brett's affair with a married woman in Crivitz. Is this true or something out of the National Inquirer. Need proof!

The Pack will not release him, but I bet they will be trading him very soon.

As sad as it all is this wishy washy packer management has tired almost all of us. Now McCarthy has chimed in and made the statement that Rogers is his starting QB. Maybe so. Bet he is injured in the first quarter though. Get real people Brett is the man and should be the starter.

I’m sorry to say I will NEVER support the Packer organization ever again. Management has made the ultimate betrayal. The board should step in and fire Murphy, Thompson and McCarty before they make the worst mistake ever. I hope the Babe Ruth cruse will be on the Packers if they don’t let Favre back as the starter. I CAN’T believe this!! My team is letting this community down this much!! Since I was 6 I have breathed the Packers. I am sick, sick, sick!!!! I’m a business owner and supported the tax on the stadium. I WANT ALL MY MONEY BACK!!!!!!!!!

He has given us everything back. He has made this organization strong, when we could have lost it. He is a strong community contributor (more than any other athlete). He is a REAL person, unlike most NFL players. O and by the way he is the greatest QB to ever play!! He is more than a football player, he is the only real thing left in sports.

He is also way better Rogers will ever be. Rogers is in his last year of contract (add Thompson’s first pick) or did you forget if you are worried about Brett coming back for 1 more year. Aaron will hold GB more hostage then anyone, he has a bad ego problem on top of it!

Wake up GREEN BAY before we lose it all!!!!

Trade Packers Management!! KEEP BRETT!!!!

Tight Teddy has had to turn negotations over to his boss - Mr. Mark Murphy. McCrappy doesn't want Brett to second guess him - so - it is time for the fans to second guess him. Why did he take the ball when he won the toss - did he think the Giants were going to play into the wind? Of course not. Worst decision he made before this one. When Brett complains of the mental BLEEP, guess where that comes from ... McCrappy.
I will cheer for the Pack when they hire a new coach. That will happen when Rodgers goes down with a foot injury.

I believe I know the married women from Crivitz that is being brought up-untrue rumor! Not that that has anything to do with how the Green Bay Packers Organization is treating Brett! Lets stick to facts-like McCarthy and Thompson railroaded Brett into retirement, he was not ready to make a decision, but they pushed for an answer! They are a disgrace to the Green Bay Packers! Let's face it, Aaron Rodgers is a product of Ted Thompson and he wanted him to be the star! Won't happen, he will be hurt before the first game! Guess the fans should "shut their mouuths" as Mr. Rodgers proclaimed not too long ago! Expect the Packers to be in the basement of the division this year!

Thanks petunia76 for the update. I think anyone spreading false accusations should be cautious since they could get sued for libel/slander. Besides, what happens in his relationship with Deanna, should be between them and should not be anyone else's business. So let's respect their privacy and stop the 'gossip.

Besides, you are absolutely right in that his private life has nothing to do with how the Green Bay Packers Organization is treating Brett! and I also agree that Aaron Rodgers is a product of Ted Thompson and Ted wants to make a name for himself.

Only time will tell!
