Okay, so I have made it absolutely clear in my blogs, how disgusted I am with the way management supposedly treated Favre.
Going by what I have heard, all fingers point at Thompson and McCarthy for shoving Favre out the door, so Rodgers could be the starter, just to satisfy and quantify their bloated and inflated egos.
If they are betting their careers (and egos) on last night's game against the Bengals, good luck! Gentlemen, this is only pre-season, and remember, you played the Bengals. Up against a tougher defense, if Rodgers goes down, the inflated egos will go down as well, with a hiss and a pop.

Even though I am neither a Favre fan or a Packer fan, I must say that the way the Packer's organization treated him was disgraceful. After so many years of service, and breathing life into a stagnant team, Packer's management opted to slam the door on him.
Brett was indecisive about his desire to retire/play, but that is understandable considering his age, and what he had gone through in his personal life with losing his dad, Deanna's illness, etc. Besides, that was no reason for management to get nasty and not grant him a trade to the team of his choosing, in the NFC north.
It's probably because those responsible for humiliating Favre were afraid of getting decimated had they faced a Favre led team during the season. If management has so much confidence in Rodgers (who by the way, was not responsible for any of this), they should have substantiated it by granting Favre a trade within the division.
What a pitiful way to force an end to a great career of someone who has brought, and given so much to the area and the community. This may very well come around to bite those responsible for this selfish act.
So the Packer's management should probably pray that the Packers do well, or they could be sent packing to the "Hall of Shame" should they end up with a couple of losing seasons. Besides, Favre could have the last laugh when he is inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame and choose not to go in as a Packer.

If all reports are true, Favre has called the Packer's bluff. My advice to them is to stop trying to 'control' him and grant him the unconditional release he is asking for, before this thing spirals out of control. The worst thing (for the Packer's organization) that could happen then, is that Favre joins the Vikings and steers them to victory against the Packers. It is also possible the Packers could win those games, or is the organization NOT really confident in Rodgers.

I am neither a Packer fan nor a
Brett Favre fan. But come on people (Packer's organization), this guy
is a human being. He went through hell with his wife being ill so give
him a break. He had to make sure his family was well first before he
made any concrete decisions. For the good of the game, and to be nice,
grant him his unconditional release. If he chooses to play for a
division opponent, so be it. He earned the right to make his own
choice. If they want to play hard ball, Brett, "Call their bluff," and
take the $12 m for sitting down. The Packer's organization will be
wasting their shareholder's money just to prove a point. and why? Are
they protecting their own 'legacy' and not really the legacy of the
person who has given them so much over the years. Give Rodgers the
chance he deserves, without having to play with 'a monkey on his back.'
The kid has stood by the team for all these years to deserve a start
without any pressure. Do not ruin it for him by continuing on with this
saga just to satisfy your pride. Remember: Pride comes before fall, and
a mighty one this may be if you do not grant Brett the unconditional
release he is asking for.
