I found a link on a blog which stated "How To Win 'Guess Who' In One Move" and was curious how that was possible. I had heard of how to win chess in 3 moves (I always forget how though haha) but how do you win 'Guess Who' in only one?!? I thought about it and I couldn't think of one characteristic that only one face had that the rest didn't. So I clicked on the link and discovered "How To Win 'Guess Who' In One Move" was a video, I watched it and was surprised.
Now don't click on the upcoming link if you still want to remember 'Guess Who' as you remembered it when you were young or you still want to play the game someday. Haha. I was amazed by how easy that game can be now that I watched the video "How To Win 'Guess Who' In One Move."
Crazy huh?

Now...if you watched the video please read on... if not, well thanks for reading but the remaining blog will be my random thoughts on the funny video and my opinion on the question "Are kids over thinking or not?"

Anyway, as I said before, I thought about it and as a child I don't  think I thought about whether or not there was a black woman, Anne, or not. Maybe I knew but just don't remember? As a child how great is it to not think about the color of someone's skin and their race. As a child we can be so innocent and see people for who they are and aren't influenced yet by the stereotypes and prejudices of someone's skin color and race. Were you surprised how easy 'Guess Who' can be to win? I know what you may be thinking 'cause I just thought of it too but who cares? The odds are pretty good that your opponent won't have Anne and the game will be as long as you remember it to be as a child. But I guess the point is, again, is that a first round question many children will ask? Will they ask about glasses or maybe gender before they think of race? Interesting...
Are kids over thinking or not? Why do children seem to think so innocently when they are younger and how do they learn the stereotypes and prejudices around us? Parents? Classmates? Books? Friends? Television? Video games?...??
I don't think they are over thinking at all. I think that they are seeing the differences in people that they should be comparing (just as long as it doesn't turn into "dumb blonde" or "nerd with glasses" although it probably will someday.) Could it be that as parents are teaching their children they may focus on hair color, eye color, maybe the shapes on the faces (big or small) but they don't mention pigment of skin? Is this something that children just don't notice? I know I watched the Cosby Show and Family Matters when I was younger and didn't notice they were a different race than me until I was older.

Anyway, I just thought this was kind of interesting to think about and wanted to share. I suppose this is more "entertainment" but it is a little "political" too so...umm...entertainment...I'll place it there I guess. Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed it and it made some sense. :-)

On January 6, American Gladiators, a show that has been off the air for over ten years was unveiled on NBC. The show's normal timeslot will be Mondays at 7:00 p.m.

I have been a fan of American Gladiators since I was a little girl and, I admit, I even watched re-runs on TV after the show went off the air in 1997. So, although I was initially excited, I was also leery about what they may have done to change the show. I have to say they did a good job on the format of the new American Gladiators show. They brought back classic challenges like the Joust, Power Ball, and The Wall but added water and other new challenges like Hit and Run.

I was a little disappointed on how easy some of the contestants completed some of the events but with new Gladiators and new events I suppose it takes them time too to master their events on the show. Or maybe the contestants were just that good. Who knows? The Gladiators are tough though and the Gladiators seem slightly more physical than the old American Gladiators in the way they hit the contestants.

The new hosts for the show are Hulk Hogan and Laila Ali who, I feel, will make good hosts for the physical, competitive show. They are known for their wrestling and boxing and are both in good shape which make them credible.

I would recommend that everyone watches at least one episode of the new American Gladiators and see what they think for themselves. I am glad it is back and think it will be a great show once again. But don't just take my word for it here's a some more information outlined nicely in the TV Guide.

I don't watch MTV as much anymore because it seems weird to me that a Music TV channel has so many reality and dating shows scheduled which has nothing to do with music last I checked. Anyway...that's a whole blog topic in itself haha...let me get back to the title...

So one night out of pure curiosity and boredom I started watching this MTV dating show "A Shot at Love" when they had on a  re-run marathon. "A Shot at Love" I discovered was a dating show where this woman, Tila Tequila, is looking for love, BUT the MTV twist is that she is trying to find it as a bi-sexual woman! So, as the weeks go by, the men and women contestants have challenges and one-on-one dates and she has to eliminate two contestants in hopes to discover two things. First of all, which gender she would want to be in a relationship with and secondly to find love. The plot of this show was very bizarre but again you get sucked into these weird reality shows sometimes. I don't know why. I think I kept watching mostly because it is so different from my lifestyle that I was curious how it would end. Would she end up falling in love with a man, Bobbie, OR would she end up falling in love with a butch woman, Dani. (Bobbie and Dani were the final 2)

I was happy to find out that Tila did chose Bobbie so MTV, with it's cutting-edge shows, actually had a finale that was traditional! I think that sets a great example for teenagers and young adults that heterosexual relationships are still normal whether you think you're bi-sexual or not. Did Dani and Tila have a connection? No doubt. Would Dani and Tila have a good relationship together? Probably. But in the end Bobbie and Tila fell in love and that seemed like the fitting finale.

On Monday, December 10th Alex Trebek, the host of the game show "Jeopardy," had a mild heart attack. He has been hospitalized but plans to continue taping live shows starting again in January.

It sounds like he'll be fine but I hope that he is back to his normal routine soon and takes care of himself. Bob Barker left the "Price is Right" and was replaced...I can't imagine "Jeopardy" without Alex Trebek.

I was listening to the radio and heard Rich Buhler, the founder and operator of a Truth or Fiction website, talking about eRumors, myths, hoaxes and other forwarded messages and I found it informative and useful.

So, if you've ever received a questionable forwarded e-mail then this is the website you've been hoping to find too. Check it out! I did.

At the mall today I ate some lunch and I read my fortune cookie which read: "Buy things because you need them, not because they are on sale." Good advice but I planning on only  window shopping today with my friend anyway. Lately, I've been trying to only buy what I need and I was brought up in buying things on sale. So, I met up with my friend and a little bit later we passed by this cosmetic kiosk. As we started to pass the kiosk my friend got a call so he left to take it. Meanwhile, l was left alone by that cosmetic kiosk and the sales lady started asking me about my nails and next thing I know I was "suckered" into getting a great deal on two of her nail treatment kits! Afterwards, I realized that I did end up buying something today that I didn't necessarily need but I bought because the deal was too good to pass up.

SO, did the fortune cookie really come true? Aren't fortune cookies just for entertainment anyway? Is it all in my head?  Who knows? Haha. But I told my friend never to leave me alone with anyone like that again!
