When my friend and I planned on hanging out Tuesday night I never would've imagined that we would be meeting at a tragic crash scene at the intersection of Willard Drive and S. Oneida Street in Green Bay. We had planned on meeting for coffee at Starbucks in Barnes and Noble but he called me to warn me of the accident along the way. I cautiously passed by the scene, parked and walked over to meet him. The police had lit up the area and the firefighters, police, and other individuals were still working at the scene piecing together what had happened. I was surprised by how many other spectators were there along with the news crews.
I had never seen anything like it before in my life. Maybe in the movies or on television but being there at the scene live with the crime scene tape, broken glass, damaged traffic light, two cars smashed into each other and knowing that two young women didn't survive was surreal. Honestly, it's hard to put into words. Overall, it made me realize many things but one being the reality of life and how 1 split second decision can affect so many.
I hope drivers will learn from this fatal crash and hopefully this can be avoided in the future. They were still so young...

My prayers go out to the families of Ashley Britsch-Knetzger and Talhia Heroux. No words can really comfort you, I know. But please know that the community's prayers and wishes will always be with you.

Hello! I have lived in Green Bay for over 15 years. I am working on my degree in Communications. I have a Video Production internship this fall and am excited to learn more about my passion. I enjoy bowling, watching movies, and if you haven't guessed already I am a big Packer fan. I try to update my blogs when I can but usually it is only when I feel something is worthy to blog. I hope my Newsroom blog will be different. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
