This is going to be one strange Packers Training Camp.  It will be number 10 for me, and I've obviously never had one with Brett Favre.  At least I think it will be without him.

Right now, you can't be sure.  It seems the Packers relationship with Favre is just too broken to fix it enough for him to ever come back to play for the team.  That said, it is still just a little bizarre to think he could play somewhere else.  The problem: Favre has taken this too far not to go to the conclusion of playing for another team.  He has postured so much, that refusing a trade to any team, even the Raiders or Lions, would make him look like this was never about the football at all.

Could he really love to play this much?  Does he really have that much left in the tank?  I can't imagine he needs the money.  If not, why go through the trouble of even playing for another team, unless they are a viable playoff contender?  That's a lot of work, more than the amount he retired over, to get ready each week with a brand new system.

But again, what team?  The Jets are NOT just a QB away from the Super bowl, and the Bucs really aren't either.  The Vikings are the only team that can genuinely say a new quarterback could put them over the top, and the Packers would rather eat the $12 million and de-activate Favre every week than let him go purple.

Will Favre ever be back on the Training Camp field?  We'll know in a few days.

I’m sorry to say I will NEVER support the Packer organization ever again. Management has made the ultimate betrayal. The board should step in and fire Murphy, Thompson and McCarty before they make the worst mistake ever. I hope the Babe Ruth cruse will be on the Packers if they don’t let Favre back as the starter. I CAN’T believe this!! My team is letting this community down this much!! Since I was 6 I have breathed the Packers. I am sick, sick, sick!!!! I’m a business owner and supported the tax on the stadium. I WANT ALL MY MONEY BACK!!!!!!!!!

He has given us everything back. He has made this organization strong, when we could have lost it. He is a strong community contributor (more than any other athlete). He is a REAL person, unlike most NFL players. O and by the way he is the greatest QB to ever play!! He is more than a football player, he is the only real thing left in sports.

He is also way better Rogers will ever be. Rogers is in his last year of contract (add Thompson’s first pick) or did you forget if you are worried about Brett coming back for 1 more year. Aaron will hold GB more hostage then anyone, he has a bad ego problem on top of it!

Wake up GREEN BAY before we lose it all!!!!

Trade Packers Management!! KEEP BRETT!!!!

It seems to me that you like to bash Brett or make this all his fault....when in reality all he wanted to do was come back. Just because he is wishy washy about it makes him such a horrible person? Brett has had no choice but to take it so far....he has had to protect himself at every turn. How nice the organization can just hide face and not answer the fans. They look like cowards and seems to me its all over a promise and a near end to a contract. Aaron has proven NOTHING, Brett has proven he will get us there and I want that more than Aaron. Sorry. But I think there are so many cruel, ruthless, unforgiving, people who have no concept of what it is to "UNDERSTAND" anyone other than themselves. I am sick about the treatment of Brett and still I look at the organization ALL OF THEM, as they should be ashamed. What an embarrassment it will be when any one or all of them show face at a game. I cant imagine it will be all that comfortable for them. It's very obvious that Brett's decision threatens Ted.....now , I want to know WHY!!! Report on that Drew....let's get to what your station preaches....fair and unbiased!

Hey packfan! First off, change your name. You are not a Packer fan. If you were, you would support the team, whatever their choice. When you talk about people not willing to "understand" anyone other than themselves, your beloved Brett is the main one acting that way from my point of view. I have an idea for you. Retire from your job, wait until they have someone else in your position several months later, then go back and tell your former employer that you changed your wishy washy mind. See what happens! That is what this is all about! Open your eyes! Look at the whole picture. Stop being a blinded lover! The Packers are a business. This is not a bunch of boys throwing around a football in their backyard! Drew is fair and unbiased. You are the biased one my friend!

I have only one question for Ted T./ Mike M. Why are you not doing your job? It is my understanding that Ted T's job is to provide Mike M. with the best talent availble, and Mike M's job to choose the BEST available player at each position to put on the field. Now, if either of these "PROFESSIONALS" can explain to me how the MVP of the team from last year is now not the best player at QB this year, and there will be no compitition for the position, I'd love to hear that explanation.... If you both can't put your ego's aside, and start the obvious "best chance" for the Packers to win on the field, I would fire you so fast there would be a vapor trail behind you on the way out of town.... I am not anti Rodgers, but anyone with an IQ of 12 or higher can see Brett is our best chance to win it all this year. As I see it, If Brett moves on and out performs Rodgers, your fired. If Brett comes back and doesn't start, unless the Packers do better than last year(which would be make the Super bowl) Your fired...If Brett chooses to sit out this year, and the Packers don't go to the Super bowl, your fired. Way to think it through boys, your now in a no win situation unless you swallow your tremendous egos and make the obvious right choice.

I totally agree, why are they not giving Favre at least the chance to compete for the position? It's really a slap in the face to Favre. Like I said before every team should have the mind set of super bowl at the beginning of the season and I'm sorry but Aaron Rodgers does not have what it takes. I really dont mind Rodgers iether but he is not super bowl caliber. Packers have made there decision and it is sickening, but will see if it pays off i guess. If it doesnt I think will be looking for some new management next year.

Something to think about,
i honestly belive that a certian person is pulling the strings, and our so-called 3 upper mangement are just his puppets,
as to ted t's comment but brett, this will get me fired, teddy boy u brought that on yourself, why make brett go on your guilt train, and to brett, stop playing into this, u have more dignity,u have your family and fans 100% behind u.listen to your wife!!!and last of all,the pack wont trade u,there to scared to,why??cuz u will kick butt, take names and talk about it later, leaving the pack to look like fools,so what we are behind u and will be with u brett!!!!do what u need to for u!

I think this whole thing is such a mess. Packers won't play Favre or let him come to camp, yet there to scared to let him go to somebody (ie. the Vikings) because they know he is a great QB that will help out there team. The Packers management are a bunch of cowards, good ole Teddy let us know this last week with the whole getting fired comment. Either give him a chance or grow a pair and let him help out some other team. I dont know if everyone else has forgoten the first half of last season when we were running 5 wide with no running back every down because we didnt have a running game and we put the fate of the team on Favre's shoulders and he produced, well I didn't. At the vary least give him a chance to compete for the starting position, the team owes it to him, management owes it to him, and the fans owe it to him.

Brett Favre deserves a better organization. Hes dedicated his career to Green Bay and they toyed with him. I dont blame him for getting the itch to return. Whats so bad about one or two more years in Green Bay, heck maybe another super bowl? Ted Thompson, Mark and the rest of the organization is simply out of control!

What is the NFL Commisioner doing siding with the Packers, Brett should be reinstated right away, Not when the Packers find another way to do away with Brett, What a Crock this whole thing is!

Along with no longer a fan of the current Packer Organization, I am not much a fan for Drew anymore either. I've had to stop watching him. I think Thompson and Favre have a deep seeded hate for one another. I think we the Packer fans should raise funds to pay for Tompson to retire.......OR trade to Minnesota!

Since the Packers continually let Brett Favre string them along every year and then now in 2008. The Pack should have Brett get a mental evaluation to see if he has bipolar or another. I am so sick of this indecisiveness. How can he make the proper decisions in the games if he doesn't know what he is doing off the field? I am not going to support the pack if Brett starts. 47 year packer fan . It should be about the Pack and not Brett. Go Cowboys Go Bears

I always thought you were a pretty good sports caster, but I'm changing my mind real fast!! What, are you in with the Packer Management to run Brett out of town??

Drew,
Keep up the good work. We need to remember who who said they were retiring and crying on television in March. Must be emotionally unstable. All the people who want Brett back are not Packer fans. They are Favre fans.We don't need them anyway and neither do the Packers. The Packers are doing a fine job handling this. Remember the team is called the Green Bay Packers not the Green Bay Brett Favres. I personally think they shouldn't retire the number 4 jersey for the way he treated the Packers. Oh by the way Brett is not God even so some people think he is .
